I hope that everyone has had a good start to 2018.
I'm still trying to get back into the flow of things. The book writing is going to have to sit simmering on Low on the backburner for a couple of months (still writing down ideas and seeing how they connect, just not able to actively write the book itself at this point).
This month is going to be all about getting a lot of GeekDad posts written, getting everything lined up for the Christian County Library Foundation's Trivia Night on Saturday, February 10, and getting all the panels (all five of them) that I'm hosting or moderating at Planet Comicon the weekend of February 16 - 18 prepared.
Five episodes in and the podcast has been a ton of fun. The crew and I are really looking forward to finding a home to do the show live every week once we get back from Planet Comicon. To that end, we're going to be working on a few audience participation segments in the next month or so, to have as proof of concept to take to venues.
Then there's all the regular hustle and bustle of having three kids active in a million different things (anyone need some Girl Scout cookies?), working Outreach at Ozark UMC, volunteering in the car line with Watch D.O.G.S. every school morning, helping with Care to Learn... the list goes on and on and on and on...
So, yeah, it's been a busy start to the new year, but a good start. Some fun projects that I've been looking forward to jumping into are on hold while other fun projects that I've been looking forward to are taking priority, but to have this many fun, exciting, fulfilling, worthwhile projects on my plate is the best kind of problem to have.
Again, I hope your 2018 is starting off full of fun and excitement and I wish you all the joy you can manage in the coming year. Oh, and if you get a little free time, I might have a couple of things you can work on.
